Founder & Tutor

Stefanie Wyatt

“I remember performing being the first thing that ever made me feel confident and like I could achieve anything, I want to take that feeling I had as a child and share it with as many young people as possible.”

For Stefanie, Imagine Performing Arts is the culmination of years of training both in theatre and as a teacher.
Stefanie has studied performance from a very young age, starting with ballet at the age of three, spreading to theatre school, singing lessons, instrumental lessons all helping to grow her love of anything performance based. After graduating from the University of Hertfordshire in 2012, Stefanie decided to train to become a primary school teacher and received her QTS qualification in 2013. Since then she has taught all over Essex in different schools. At each one finding any means possible to teach her love of theatre in choirs, orchestras, instrumental groups, drama clubs, dance lessons etc.

For Stefanie the motivation for Imagine Performing Arts comes from the progress she has seen first-hand. Where a child who is shy, unable to take part, anxious, worrying and struggling with the day to day mental load of school, can take huge steps and become the child who stands centre stage, sings a solo, performs a monologue, or simply manages to appear in front of a crowd.

The Arts plays a massive role in nurturing the confidence and abilities of every child and she wants to make sure that the opportunity to thrive is accessible for all.

Tutor

Tia Winterbottom

Tia has recently graduated from the University of Chichester Conservatoire with a degree in Theatre but has been teaching and running workshops in theatre for 6 years.

She loves watching children fall in love with theatre and seeing them shine onstage.

Tia has been involved with theatre from a very young age even attended a performing arts school like Imagine herself as a child so she knows how valuable these experiences can be for children in building confidence and offering support. Tia loves working within the local theatre scene in Colchester and has taken part in many productions both on the stage and behind it taking on roles such as stage manager and even director.

Tia cannot wait to get stuck in with Imagine performing arts and hopefully inspire children to adore being involved with theatre as much as she does.

Testimonials
On behalf of Hollie and Ashie - their experience with you at summer camps will stay with them always! The fun, dancing and singing, the t-shirts and the time with friends over the holidays gave them great memories and fabulous skills. They felt a boost in their confidence after a week with you, they enjoyed the challenge of learning new things and getting involved. I believe they developed skills with you that they use today - so valuable in stretching their comfort zone and achieving brilliant things! The kids felt safe and included and still remember the warm, friendly space that they enjoyed so much. As parents we were grateful for the camps too, it was so lovely hearing their chatter about it all at the end of each day. We loved the performance on the Friday too - as much as the kids enjoyed doing it for us I am sure :).
